Upton drags Crescent over the line

An extra-time drag-flick from Ireland U16 international Roisin Upton gave Crescent a cherished spot in the final of the Munster Senior Schoolgirls Cup on Friday, as the Limerick girls saw off Cork city’s Scoil Mhuire 1-0.

Crescent had just about shaded an engrossing period of normal time, but couldn’t find a way past an inspired Ciara Randles in the Scoil Mhuire goal, who got her angles right all day and kept her side in the game at crucial times.
But Upton – who has taken brilliantly to top-level club hockey with Catholic Institute this term – produced a sumptuous high drag in extra-time, and her side held on for a place in the decider against Mount Mercy, who saw off Laurel Hill Coláiste by the same scoreline on Tuesday.

can anyone tell me why the ijc quarter finals are the same weekend as the junior interpro’s?? the hockey branch really amaze me sometimes
The Junior Interpros & the Irish Junior Cup are IHA Competitions, which the MBIHA participate in. Saying that I have received nearly 30 players names from their clubs who have been invited to the Men’s Junior Trials this Saturday, Feb 20th @ 5pm in Harlequins. If anyone else is interested, you are more than welcome.
Whereas Church of Ireland will be playing IJC the same weekend, three players from C of I have expressed an interest in the Munster Juniors.
We in the MBIHA wish C of I, the very best in retaining the IJC & will be supporting them @ 2pm on Sat 13th March in the IJC (Q/F) vs. either Cookstown or Glenanne
